Centre Flora Tristan (Le)

SOS Femmes Alternatives ouvre le Centre Flora Tristan en 1978. C’est le premier foyer d'hébergement en France pour femmes victimes de violences dans les familles, de violences exercées contre elles par des hommes. L’objectif est d’offrir un hébergement d'urgence et un accompagnement juridique médical et social aux femmes victimes de violences et à leurs enfants.Une quinzaine de femmes et leurs enfants y sont recueillis, seize permanentes y travaillent. On suit la vie du centre, son originalité, les démarches individuelles de femmes qui arrivent et qui en repartent.

SOS Femmes Alternatives opened the Flora Tristan Centre in 1978. It was the first shelter in France for women who were victims of domestic violence and violence perpetrated against them by men. The aim is to provide emergency accommodation and legal, medical and social support to women who are victims of violence and their children. Around fifteen women and their children are taken in there, and sixteen permanent staff members work there. We follow life at the centre, its unique character, and the individual journeys of the women who arrive and those who leave.
